We love chocolate so we’ve decided to make some chocolate egg nests for Easter. We used a recipe out of the Easter Issue of the Morrisons supermarket magazine.
5 large Morrisons Neat Wheat
150 grams milk chocolate
50 grams butter
6 teaspoon golden syrup
36 mini eggs (yum
We started by putting the cupcake cups into a 12 batch muffin tray.
Then we crumbled up 5 Neat Wheatinto a bowl and made sure there was no big lumps in it.
Then we broke up the chocolate (150 grams) into a glass bowl and added 50 grams of butter and 6 tablespoons of golden syrup.
After that we put some water into a pot and heated it up. Then we put the glass bowl of chocolate, butter and golden syrup onto the pot and we made sure the water wasn’t touching the bowl. Mum helped us with this bit. We had to mix it up until it was all melted and there were no lumps of butter or chocolate to be seen.
Then Mum poured the hot chocolate mix into the mixing bowl with the crumbled Neat Wheat.
We mixed it with a metal spoon and it was very hard to get all the bits mixed in with the chocolate.
We then put the mixture into the cupcake cups and then we got a bowl of warm water (so our fingers wouldn’t stick to the mixture) and we pushed a little dip into each one.
Then the best bit, we put the little Easter eggs onto each chocolate nest.
Finally we put them into the fridge (for 45 mins to let them cool and harden). Then we get to eat them!!
